FSN Top-10 Coxswain Criteria:
▪️Top-10 Coxswains: All-Division 1 Men’s Rowing
The primary vessel of the rowing shell is argued to be the coxswain, or better known in the rowing world, as the “9th Seat” or “Driver” of the crew. The FSN Team, led by Founder/CEO, Hudson Forster, who has rapidly become one of Men’s Collegiate Rowing’s Main Analysts, itemized what he believes to be are the ULTIMATE coxswains across the sport.
Through their persistent impact and value to their respective program, with many having years of National Team Experience or a premier-level coxing background, these Drivers on the College Rowing Scene, specifically for the 2025-2026 Season, are dominating the game with skill and model traits of the highest-standard in the sport. Each individual featured on this select list has demonstrated their ability to handle the pressure and demands of the most elite collegiate rowing programs in the nation.
No. 6 Ranked Freshman, Jake Bazulto (California) out of Long Beach, CA, has become a staple for the Golden Bears taking on leadership roles in his underclassmen years at one of the most perennial powerhouses in the nation.
Both Seguin (Brown) out of Greenwich, CT, and Casler (Princeton) out of Newport Beach, CA, have had opportunities competing with Team USA during their matriculation to the Ivy League. Casler denied his invitation for the Under-23 Selection Camp hosted in Oklahoma City, OK to vie for a spot in the US Men’s Eight, with Seguin accepting the invitation from Providence, where she later earned her seat in the boat, taking her talents internationally at the 2025 Under-23 World Rowing Championships hosted in Poznan, Poland.
Ties run deep amongst the East Coast Division 1 crowd, with Greed (Holy Cross) & Joseph (Drexel) both alumni of the prestigious, St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, PA. The two having had developed in what could arguably be considered as “Coxswain U” of the United States at the youth level, are referred by their teammates and respective head coaches to be mainstays for their program. Each athlete featured on this list are completely deserving of the spotlight and recognition via the FSN Front Office.
