▪️Top-10 Coxswains: All-Division 1 Women’s Rowing
The primary vessel of the rowing shell is argued to be the coxswain, or better known in the rowing world, as the “9th Seat” or “Driver” of the crew. The FSN Team, led by Founder/CEO, Hudson Forster, who has rapidly become one of Women’s Collegiate Rowing’s Main Analysts, itemized what he believes to be are the ULTIMATE coxswains across the sport.
Through their persistent impact and value to their respective program, with many having years of National Team Experience or a premier-level coxing background, these Drivers on the College Rowing Scene, specifically for the 2025-2026 Season, are dominating the scene with skill and model traits of the highest-standard in the sport. Each individual featured on this select list has demonstrated their ability to handle the pressure and demands of the most elite collegiate rowing programs in the nation.
No. 2 Ranked Junior, Francie McKenzie (Princeton) out of Greenwich, CT, has become a vital force for the Tigers in her early years competing in the sport. After taking home the iconic “Red Box” at the Henley Royal Regatta in 2023, McKenzie and her teammates from Greenwich Crew, charged down the course surging across the finish line beating out various international talent with an armada of American Crews in attendance as well. In fact, the summer prior to her Henley campaign, McKenzie coxed Team USA at the Under-19 World Championships in Lago di Varese, Italy, across the finish line breaking the World Record Time, and taking home Gold back to the States!
One of the nation’s most dynamic pair of sisters, No. 3 Ranked, Taryn Graves (Tennessee) was just a Freshman last year driving her crew to the Grand Final in the Varsity Eight at the 2025 NCAA Rowing Championships in New Jersey, with No. 7 Ranked, Loran Graves (Miami) completing her Junior Year campaign at the highly-contested ACC Rowing Championships located at Lake Hartwell in Clemson, SC.
No. 10 Ranked, Meghan Mangan (Rutgers) transferred to New Brunswick from her two-year campaign coxing the Duquesne Varsity Eight. In just her first year with the Scarlet Knights’ emerging crew(s), Mangan brought her midwest skills to play at the 2025 Big Ten & NCAA Rowing Championships, prompting a trip across the pond to the Henley Royal Regatta with her team, leading the Rutgers B Crew to a competitive end to the crew’s 2024-2025 campaign.
Each athlete featured on this list comprising of talent across two Power 4 Conferences, along with Ivy League Representation, deserved proper spotlight and recognition via the FSN Front Office.
